Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is now the Afutupahene of Jema Traditional Area in the Bono East Region.

The Chief of Jema Traditional Area and Nkoranza Traditional Council, Nana Amponsah Gyan has enstooled Dr. Bawumia with the honorary title of Afutupahene.

According Nana Amonsssah Gyan, explained that, Vice President Bawmia has been good at advising President Akufu-Addo in government the country to the satisfaction of Ghanaians and so, he has to honor him with the title.

“Because of his [Dr Bawumia] great counsel to President Akufo-Addo, the Traditional Council has decided to crown him Afutupahene Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.” He said.

The Chief also applaud Dr. Bawumia for his contribution to the development of Ghana.

He said “During the Covid-19 pandemic, the government provided free water and electricity. We thank the Vice President and we believe he would be able to take the mantle of leadership should the president be absent.”

Vice President Dr. Bawumia also thanked the Traditional leaders and the people of Jema for the honor.

He assured them that the NPP will do it best to develop the country.

He also asked them to vote for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP on December 7.

“It is time to honour the president and the vice president. I know if you help them, they shall also assist the community in return.” He told them.
