Former President and Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his plans to eradicate unemployment because joblessness is a shame.
He says he will create more sustainable jobs for the Ghanaian youth, but if elected into office in the coming December 7 general elections.
Speaking to a durbar of small-scale miners at Wassa Japa in the Wassa Amenfi East District of the Western Region, Mr. Mahama stated that, the small-scale miners and galamsey operators who have been rendered jobless by the ruling Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a shame.
He also lambasted President Akufo-Addo for giving concessions to only NPP members to do mining int eh coutnty to benefit Akufo-Addo’s Family And Friends Government.
“Respect and honour evades a man who stays at home not because he is lazy, but because there are no jobs, all the time, you have to look forward to family and friends to cater for your needs, there is no dignity in that.” He said.

To Mr. Mahama, Akufo-Addo has stripped of Ghanaians of their livelihood by banning galamsey and taking concessions to his close family and friends.
He said ” A well planned and implemented small scale mining practice is capable of creating jobs for all the youths. The bad governance of the NPP has brought about hunger because they have canvased all practices of galamsey and given it to a few persons in the party with a greater number of the mining population sidelined.”
The Flagbearer promised the people of Wassa Japa that his next government if elected into power, will bring back galamsey to the people in a well-planned and organised process for doing small-scale mining in the country.
