The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that Ghana’s current debt position has worsened than when we joined HIPC relief program in 2001.

Addressing the a press conference in Accra today 28th October 2020 by its communications director Sammy Gyamfi, he said;

“Ghana’s debt was already increasing at an alarming rate and had reached unsustainable levels.”

“Indeed, our current debt position is worse than where we were when we joined the HIPC debt relief program in the year 2001, at which time our debt to GDP ratio stood at 61 percent,”Mr Gyamfi noted.
