The Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency, Honorable Muntaka Mubarak says the ruling party New Patriotic Party (NPP) has started to intimate the National Democratic Congress (NDC), ahead of upcoming December 7 elections.

He says the intimidation strategy against the Umbrella party, will, of course, not work in this general elections.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command on Sunday, arrested 10 NDC members at Aboabo, in Kumasi, of which the Minority Chief Whip confirmed that, the people are well recognized members of the NDC.

Honorable Muntaka, speaking at the scene said he believe the arrest was fuel by NPP’s as a way to intimidate members of NDC in the region ahwad of the upcoming December 7 polls.

“It is becoming difficult that since the voters’ registration exercise, you will be there and they will just arrest your agents without any good reason. We go to the police station and bail the person,”

“In the night they came to arrest those people but the police is telling us they were looking for some suspects in a robbery case and they heard they were around the said area.” He said.

According to Muntaka, the people arrested are not the alleged people the police said they were on their radar.

“The police have said they are looking for a particular person and they heard that person was hovering around. They showed me a video and when I watched it, the wanted person looks nothing close to near any of our boys.”

“I am very careful about those around me because I know all about the Vigilante Law. We are not putting up any vigilante group. These are young boys who handle the posting of our posters and they don’t engage in vigilante acts.” He stated.
