The National Media Commission during a Public Accounts Committee sitting today has told the Committee that the Commission don’t have enough funds to monitor the media landscape ahead of the 2020 elections.
Speaking during the committee’s hearing on Friday, September 11, 2020, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, George Sarpong explained that the commission is forced to use other alternative due to insufficient resources they are confronted with;

“We do not have the resources and the capacity to be able to monitor election 2020. So we are working towards alternative approaches to regulate systems that can still help us make some necessary interventions.”
Ghanaians will go to the poll on December 7 2020 to vote to elect a president to govern the nation for the next four years which the media is expected to play key role during and after the electoral process.
