Fast rising Ghanaian rapper Yaw Tog got social media users talking today after he dropped a surprising freestyle titled ‘Me’.

Yaw Tog came into the music scene in 2020 relying on the wings of the Asaaka Boys on the trend they started for themselves at the point many social media users were trolling them with their Kumerica movement.

Yaw Tog joining the trend featured the Asaaka Boys who at that time were receiving much recognition with their ‘Akatafo’ on his hit song ‘Sore’. He quickly gain much recognition as well as the song itself.

The song caught the attention of United Kingdom finest rapper Stormzy who came all the way down to Ghana to meet the rapper. Yaw Tog featured Stormzy on his ‘Sore’ remix alongside Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur.

The song was met with praises and the music video of the broke the Ghanaian record after it amassed over a million views on YouTube. But was met with criticism when fans noticed the Asaaka Boys were not featured in the music video.

Yaw Tog later came out to explain why the Asaaka Boys were not featured in the music video saying they told him point blank they can’t work with him if he did not sign a record deal with their label.

Moving on, the rapper was recognized by BET as the ‘BET Amplified International Artiste’ for the month of March.

In his new freestyle, the rapper stated mentioning some of the things he has been able to achieved in his career within the shortest time including his views on YouTube, his feature with Stormzy and the recognition from BET.

Ghanaians this morning after he dropped the freestyle started bashing the rapper for being ‘pride’ all of a sudden but one fan who stands to defend the rapper stated rapper Sarkodie after winning his BET award has remind Ghanaians of it for more than 700 times in his various rap lines but most people said nothing so he doesn’t understand why people are bashing Yaw Tog for doing the same.
