In his sixth nation address to speak on measures taken to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in Ghana, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo mentioned that Ghana’s borders will still be closed until further notice.
According to him, most of the 378 reports cases of Coronavirus were imported into the country and ensuring that the borders are closed has become very necessary.
Before extending the lockdown, the president indicated that 79% of Ghana’s Coronavirus cases were imported with 297 out of the 378 people who have tested positive being travellers.
In his speech, the President revealed that through contact tracing a total of 37405 samples have been taken with 31933 samples taken in Accra and the rest in Kumasi.
