South African gospel star doctor Tumi in the wake of the fraud allegation levelled against him, and his wife has taken to social media to break his silence on the issue.
Dr Tumi has been topping the trending list since news of him and his wife getting arrested made way on social media. But despite all the bruhaha circling around him on social media, the medical doctor and singer has chosen to remain quiet on the issue.
According to the gospel singer, his legal team had advised him not to utter a word about the matter as it is an ongoing investigation.
Taking to his Twitter account during the whole fiasco, he wrote: “Good day fam. Hope you all are well. We also are good. As per legal advice, kindly note that we won’t be commenting on the current media reports, as the matter is before the courts. Thank you for your understanding and support. Love to you all and wishing you a great day.”
The Hawks spokesperson Capt Ndivhuwo Mulamu has confirmed that the couples did indeed got arrested after they received R760 000 from the R1.5 million of funds.
“The couple allegedly benefited approximately R760,000 from the funds. They handed themselves in at the Johannesburg office escorted by their attorney and were subsequently charged for fraud.”
According to reports, the couples went to the Hawks office to hand themselves over in the presence of their attorney and were released later on in the day after paying R3000 on bail.
