President Buhari’s administration has described the defection of the governor of Edo State to as insignificant as it does not count and affect the party in any way.

Spokesperson of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said Obaseki’s defection was long expected when he left the party.

“So you can’t defect twice. So if he is defecting again, we don’t know whether what he has just done now is news any longer,”

Issa-Onilu said.

Obaseki resigned from the APC after he was disqualified from the June 22 governorship primaries.

Lets sit tight and see if Obaseki would be able to retain his seat once again.
