Since the reopening of Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on September 1, government has made a total amount of $37,050 from Covid-19 testing of travelers.

According to Dr Kuma-Aboagye, the General-Director of the Ghana Health Service, the Health officials at the Airport have so far conducted a total of 247 Covid-19 tests since the airport was reopened to travelers.

Dr Kuma, giving the breakdown said 217 tests were conducted on day one of the reopening and 30 tests the following day.

He made the disclosure during the press conference by the ministry of Information on the status of the Covid-19 cases in the country.

Dr Kuma-Aboagye, however, indicated that none of the travelers have tested positive for Covid-19. He added “The country’s active cases have drastically decreased to 856. Meanwhile, the total case numbered 44,713 with 43,557 recoveries and 280 deaths.
