The Ghana Private Road Transport Union(GPRTU) has hinted that passengers are to expect an increment in the fee they pay for the services rendered to them by commercial bus drivers soon.

According to reports, a proposal has been sent to the Transport Ministry for deliberation as preparations are underway to introduce the new transport fares soon.

This was revealed by the Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union(GPRTU), Mr. Richard Yaw Amankwah who said that the processes to this end are well underway, and the final meeting with the Minister of Transportation on the percentage to be applied will take place tomorrow.

 A meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow with stakeholders to conclude on the percentage to be added to the current transport fare in the country to help commercial drivers make their daily sales.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh has appealed to the residents and chief of Gomoa Fawomaye to remain calm and cooperate with the Central Regional Police Commander, Mrs. Habiba Twumasi-Sarpong on the investigation regarding the police officer who exhumed 10 dead bodies at the cemetery.

The chief, Nana Okofo Kwakye Abeka Acquah III has warned the said police officer in the person of Supt. Robert Kobil to return the dead bodies he exhumed or face the wrath of the community.

However, Supt. Robert Kobil has also refused to return the bodies, daring the chief and his resident to go to the court if they have an issue.
