The past few weeks has seen the new Inspector General of Police, Mr George A. Dampare under the spotlight taking center stage on most platforms on social media and traditional media.
Following the arrest of Ghanaian artistes, Medikal and Shatta Wale, a lot of Ghanaians have alluded that the new IGP does not take nonsense as he arrests individuals at the slightest offense committed.
Following a publicity stunt he pulled about a shooting incident at East Legon, Shatta Wale was arrested and made to appear before the court yesterday. He has been remanded into police custody for one week until the reopening of his case.
Medikal who was also arrested yesterday for brandishing a pistol on social media has also been remanded into police custody for five days.
However, Ghanaians have decided to make fun of what is supposed to be a very serious matter as some tweeps have called attention to the fact that Highlife musician, Kuami Eugene has been stealing songs of other musicians and as such must be arrested and face the law just like his colleagues, Medikal and Shatta Wale.
A Twitter user with the handle @the_marcoli_boy, tweeted “forget Medikal and Shatta Wale Very soon the new IGP will arrest Kuami Eugene for stealing songs!“. The post has since gone viral with many more funny tweets about the IGP.
