An appeal has been made by the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu to President Akufo Addo to suspend the commissioning of ambulances that has been procured and stationed at the State House in Accra.
Kwaku Agyemang-Manu joined the call by the National Ambulance Service that the president will a matter of importance temporarily put on hold the commissioning and distribution of the ambulances to the various constituency.
In a letter he presented, he claimed to ‘add his voice’ to the pleas of National Ambulance Service and for them, the suspension of the commissioning will give way for them to adequately examine and conclude technical issues regarding the deployment of the ambulances.
This according to the Health Ministry, when this measures are observed will ensure and guarantee effective and effective emergency response.
“I forward to you a letter from the management of the National Ambulance Service making a request for the postponement of the Commissioning of the new ambulances. Having engaged them and listened to the reasons for the request for the postponement, I would like to add my voice for their request to be granted”, parts of the letter from the Health Minister to the President read.
“This request has become very necessary due to the fact that the following important technical issues need to be completely addressed before the ambulances can be commissioned and dispatched to the various constituencies to ensure efficient and effective responses suffered some delay due to unforeseen circumstances.”
