Outspoken media personality formerly with Media General, Bridget Otoo has called out the Ghana Police Service for the ‘Hollywood’ manner they arrested Citi FM journalists Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo on Tuesday.

Reports went viral yesterday that armed policemen have besieged the premises of Citi FM on Tuesday, May 11 to pick up Zoe for allegedly conspiring with her colleague, Caleb Kudah, to secretly film the compound of the Ministry of National Security.

According to reports, Mr. Kudah was arrested while filming the compound as he waited for someone he had gone there to visit. He then, allegedly, forwarded the video to Zoe which prompted the officers to invade the Accra-based radio station to intimidate the staff while brandishing as they allegedly chase the workers of the station helter-skelter.

While sharing her opinion on the trending subject, the famed Ghanaian journalist who is noted for her open support for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) said the action of the armed men in uniform was totally uncalled for, given that Zoe, in particular, is a woman who had ‘no weapon,’ except a pen, shoe, and a phone.

“This is the armed police that went to arrest @ZABaidoo Her only weapon was a pen, phone, and her shoe. You didn’t need armed officers, you could have even sent men who weren’t in uniform but I get it; Tactics and sense aren’t one of the strongest traits of @GhPoliceService.”
