Northern Ireland has had its first lesbian marriage just a year after it legalized same-sekz marriages.
The couple identified as Robyn Peoples and Shami Edwards got married on 11 February 2020 as they became the first to do so in the country.
We have got some photos of the event but prior to the event, one of the couples spoke to reporters.
In her submission, she said;
“Our love is personal but the law which said we couldn’t marry was political. We are delighted that with our wedding, we can now say that those days are over. While this campaign ends with Sharni and I saying ‘I do’, it started with people saying ‘No’ to inequality. By standing together, we’ve made history.”
