Real name, Livingstone Etse Satekla, Stonebwoy was born on March 5, 1988 in Ashaiman, a suburb of the capital of Ghana, Accra . He is the fourth of seven children.

His twin brother died in an accident and he has often said that he sometimes has character of his brother; pointing to his bipolar tendencies.

He is a specialist in the Afro pop, dance hall and reggae genres who hails from the Volta Region of Ghana.

Stonebwoy realized his love and passion for creative arts, having successfully scripted and acted for the drama club of his school and also put words together in a rhythmic manner when he was in primary four as a kid.

He got his high school certificate at Methodist Day Secondary School; he graduated in University Professional Studies with a degree in Marketing in the year 2013.

According to friends and family, Stonebwoy began his underground rap back in high school where he could compete. With the support of his family, he joined Kasahare Level known as the best rap battle competition and this was his breakthrough as he met Samini, who later signed him unto the Samini Music Label as his original label.

His first radio hit, Makuma (My Heart) was released in second year at Senior High School plus several others that followed up later. By third year, he had garnered for himself a flaming underground popularity and went on to release another hit titled Empress which held him up years after leaving High School in 2007.

In 2008, he began working with S24 studios, which was subsequently followed by him opening his own dance group called Burniton Music Group where he is the CEO and this was strongly inspired by his dancing skills.

As prominent musician, he has many collaborations with muicians from Africa, UK, Jamaica such as Jah Vinci, Trey Songz, Gappy Ranks, Randy Valentine, Sakordie, Wayne Wonder, Laza Morgan, Samini, Obrafour, Black Prophet, R2Bees, Patoranking, General Pype Stylogee, Burna Boy, Morgan Heritage, Chris Martin, I Octane, Kranium and many others.

With this, he has attracted a large fan base across the world having staged performances in UK, USA, Australia, Italy, Amsterdam and many more countries and sharing stage with acts such as Lauryn Hill, Alkaline, Busy Signal, Popcaan, Morgan Heritage and Wizkid. Branding plays a very important role within the BMG group, and as a brand, Stonebwoy’s popular catchphrase – “BHIM!!!!!‟(Bless His Imperial Majesty), has been largely received and accepted, not just within Ghana and Africa, but in Europe too.

Stonebwoy is married to a beautiful Dr. Louisa Kwakye Ansong. She is a graduate student from the reputable Kwame Nrumah University of Science and Technology. He proposed to his girlfriend and later tied a knot in a very big ceremony, at the Unique Flora at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra. They have two kids together, with the younger one coming not long ago.
