Computerized School Selection And Placement System (CSSPS)
In a more simple definition, The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is a system used by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to place qualified Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates into Senior High School (SHS), Technical Institutes (TI) and Vocational Institutes.
In placing candidate of BECE, the Ministry of Education together with the Ghana Education Service has planted a computerized program that automatically allot schools for students by first considering the Senior High Schools (SHS) chosen by the candidates before they sat for the exams. Because the Ghana Education Service wants to clear students minds on this without being bias, they computer is programmed to match the total score grade marks of a candidate and their respective selected schools and the system will automatically place the candidate to one of the schools he or she chose.

Where To Check Your 2020/2021 BECE Placement Results
The Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education have accredited some companies where you can check your placement online.
Note: These companies can in no way manipulate either in favor or disfavor your BECE results or placement. They are just accredited institutions where candidates can purchase BECE results checker to check their examination results. These institutions are

- Candidate Index Number (This is the examination index number which you used for writing the exams.)

How To Check BECE Placement Results By Phone (SMS)
- Open your phone messaging box
- Type your examination index number and send to the short code 1060
- You will receive a message that contains detail information your school placement
Note: If you didn’t not get your information at step three (3) in this process, proceed to the below steps and you will get your results information.
- Add the last two digits of the year you sat for the BECE to your index number. For example, if you completed BECE in 2020, then you it should be your index number with 20 at the back. So if your indext number is 9797979797, you just add 20 to it and makes it 979797979720.
However, you can also use this procedure if you are visiting the CSSP portal, you will need a pin code. Dail *713*24# to get the code on your phone and then log on to the site.
How To Check BECE Placement Results Online
You can also check your BECE Placement Results online. Below is the step by step guide to check your 2020/2021 BECE Placement Results online.
- Get your BECE Results Checker Pin
- Visit the Official website of CSSPS which is www.cssps.org or www.cssps.gov.gh
- Enter your 10 digit index number and the year of examination
- Enter the serial number found on top of the BECE Results Checker PIN which is the card you bought to check your results.
- Enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number) which is also found on the BECE Results Checker PIN
- Click on the submit button to send your detailed information.
Note: After you click on the submit button, the page will fish your BECE results for you. Don’t forget to print the results so that you get the hardcopy paper-base of your results.
Problems You May Encounter In Checking Your BECE Placement Results.
This is something normal and you should not be overwhelmed about it. You might encounter some problems when checking your examination results.
The most common that usually happens is when you submit your detail but the system will not recognize that you are valid candidate who sat for the exams.
When you get a message like “Sorry the Index Number, Scratch Card Number/PIN Number does not exist. Please look carefully and retype the numbers.
Also, since thousands are checking their results online, the CSSPS website will be very busy and so, you might not get easy access to the site or the system may not fish out your information as fast as possible. When this happens, don’t worry but keep trying and you’ll soon get your results.
Again, you might also experience challenges if your results were received later than others. If the results are withheld, it does not necessarily mean your results have been canceled. You can get them later by keeping checking until you have them.
