Residents who observed it around 5:30 a.m. said it wandered the neighborhood as locals, including several children, kept a safe distance behind it.

They were able to push it away from their homes until it landed in an open gutter on the street. The crocodile was captured with a plastic barrel after nearly three hours and with the assistance of locals.

Witnesses told Joy News they were worried about the incident and that they were afraid to leave their houses for fear of being attacked by the snake.

According to one of the residents, “This is the first time we are seeing this, and so it’s shocking to almost all the people here. As we go back, we don’t know when another one would show up here.

However, it is believed that the crocodile was from the Tano river where such reptiles are mostly sighted in the area.
