Legendary movie actor and producer Bob Smith Jr., popularly known as “Diabolo Man,” has stated that movie making was a profitable and productive venture in the 1990s.

In an interview with Tv3’s “Simply Showbiz” the producer of “Diabolo 1 & 2” said that he used the proceeds from a single movie to build his house.

“My house i have, I used one movie , “Prince of Doom” to buy my huge two plots and then started my house to roofing level , one movie , so you can tell how lucrative movie making was those days”,he revealed.

According to him the existence of many cinemas at the time, which were the main place to watch movies until home video became more popular, made it possible for film producers to reach many Ghanaians with their content; earning a lot of cash in the process.
