Former Black Stars defender, John Paintsil has indicated that he is very optimistic that the Black Star of Ghana will win the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) which is being held in Cameroon.

He made this known in a recent submission where he stated that without mincing words that his instinct is telling him this great news.

Answering a question about if he thinks Ghana will win the prestigious tournament, John Painstil said;

“I can smell it. I don’t want to put pressure on the players. We can use this AFCON to prepare the players for the world cup.”

John Paintsil was part of Ghana’s team that qualify for its first World Cup in 2006 and also made appearances at the 2010 World Cup.

When it comes to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) has made several appearances and was even part of the that qualified Ghana to the finals of the tournament in 2010 where the Black Stars failed to lift the trophy after losing to Egypt in Angola.

The Black Stars have, however, lost their first match of the tournament and will be looking forward to winning their next two matches against Gabon and Comoros.
