Nigerian singer Dr. Sid has resurfaced on social media after going on hibernation for a year and over.
It is only a few who are close to the Mavin Records signee knew the reason for his absence in the music scene as fans lingered in wonder as to what was going on with the singer.
Dr. Sid has shown up on social media to share with his fans across the world his ordeal whilst in hibernation.
According to the ‘flawless’ hitmaker, he suffered severe health conditions like mild stroke, high blood pressure and almost lost his life in the process.
He added that he was very broke at the time and had no money coming because there was no ongoing business for him.
“I have had a period of real difficulty. I have had a period of financial difficulty. I was making music, nothing was working. I wasn’t getting booked at shows. Of my own doing, I didn’t have passive income.
I didn’t have anything outside of music. I had health issues; I had high blood pressure and a mild stroke last year. I almost died.”
He adds that change can only start with us the individuals; “At that point, you think to yourself ‘What’s going on?’ I’ve struggled. In struggling you understand that the only person responsible for the change is you. Same thing with Naija as a whole. The issue with this country starts with individuals.”
