High Life artist Kwame Eugene says he had no idea his former colleague was suffering depression.

MzVee in series of interviews disclosed that she left the music scenes because she was battling with depression.

Surprisingly, her former label mate, Kuami Eugene, says he had no idea the ‘Come And See My Mother’ crooner was depressed.

“But when they came on board, we used to go to shows together and it was fun. It was actually fun times with them. The thing is I didn’t leave Lynx, I left music. I gave up on music 2 years ago. Its very emotional because I was super super depressed.” MzVee told Berla Mundi on the Newday show on TV3.

According to Eugene, he is currently promoting his new single ‘Turn Up’ therefore he does not get time to monitor what happens in the media.

“I haven’t listened to any interview because I’m busy doing my interviews for ‘Turn up’, and so this is the first time I’m hearing this. I’m focusing on pushing my song out there.” Eugene said.

He added that his interactions with MzVee is more on a professional level than it is on a personal level, hence, it would be difficult to know what is going on in the singer’s personal life.

The Lynx Entertainment signee said“The only thing we do is meet at the studio, we record together, MzVee you’re fine, and I’m also fine, then that’s it. I don’t go really personal into her life to know that she’s under depression.”

He also denied being at loggerheads with MzVee.
