Ghanaian football legend and the former captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan as said that he has not retired from football and still has a lot to offer on the pitch.
Asamoah Gyan is one of the popular names in the Black Stars team known widely. The footballer has however not been playing for the Black Stars since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

After the abysmal performance of the Black Stars at the 2021 AFCON tournament, former captain Asamoah Gyan has been sharing his opinion about the performance of the players.
While appearing as an analyst on SuperSport TV, Gyanstated that he has not retired from football but he needs to reduce weight before he can resume active participation in football.
“I have not resigned from my position yet. I must reduce weight and be physically active before doing so and I must train on a consistent basis week in and week out”.

“My physical appearance is still in good shape, and I still have a lot to offer in terms of intellectual and social contributions. Everything is in order in terms of intelligence, and everything is in order in terms of physical readiness, but I do not believe I am physically ready at this moment. “I need to work on improving my physical fitness.”
