Ghanaian Reggae star, Rocky Dawuni has revealed in an interview with Hitz FM that he once taught Ghanaian legend, Sarkodie at a point in time during his national service in Koforidua.

The world-acclaimed star, who was on the show to promote his 13-track 7th studio album, Beats of Zion,

said amidst laughter that after his National Service he got the chance to teach in a school in Koforidua, Eastern Region, and one of his pupils happened to be Micheal Owusu Addo, professionally known as Sarkodie.

Rocky, who made history as the first Ghanaian to gain a Grammy nomination, also made an interesting revelation during the interview session.

According to him, former broadcast journalist of the EIB Network, Kafui Dey, was part of his first music group they formed whilst they both students of the University of Ghana, adding he was at that time known as “Ras Kaf”.

Rocky Dawuni is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter who performs his signature ‘Afro Roots’ sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife and soul music. He currently lives between Ghana and Los Angeles.
