Speaking in an interview with the lifestyle and celebrity blogger, Zionfelix on the Uncut show, Sonnie Badu stated that he had always rendered help to his members with his own income even though there are fundraising programs in the church to help members sail through their woes.
He explained that some pastors have other means of helping their church members through some companies and some churches also have a fundraising program to aid in offering assistance to their members in their times of need.
Sonnie Badu stated that his church has a fundraising initiative dubbed “the rock fund” in which every member in his church donates $20 per month so that in case a member encounters an issue, money can be taken out of that funds to aid him or her.
However, he lamented that some disciplinary measures need to be placed within the church just so as to ensure that indisciplined people in the church do not abuse their boundaries and take advantage of the privilege given to them.
He also mentioned that there have been incidents where some members personally reach out to him for loans to settle some bills and promise to pay back after a short while but they end up extending the time and when such a person is being approached for the money, he or she might quit the church out of anger.
