Ghanaian drill sensation, Ismail Mohammed Sherif, affectionately known as Black Sherif has revealed that he was thrown into a state of shock and astonishment when he was nominated in the best vocalist category at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Speaking in an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3’s New Day segment, Black Sherif revealed that he bagged seven nominati ons on the award show but one that surprised him was the best vocalist nomination.

He recounted that when he used to drum tables and sing in school, he vowed to take the VGMA best vocalist one day but he never expected his song ‘Gold Digger” to secure him a place in that category.

However, he vowed to give his competitors a run for their money because he would be claiming the award for the best male vocalist in the next Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

In other news, Kidi has revealed the reaction his son, Zane gave after he told him that his favorite album, “Golden Boy” has won the overall Album of the year at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

It would be recalled that Kidi after winning the Best Album of the year with his “Golden Boy” album at the VGMAs dedicated the award to his adorable son, Zane who happens to be the original “golden boy”.

Speaking in an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, Kidi stated that he disliked the idea of letting his son watch the award show because of the nature of his seductive performance on stage.

However, he informed him about his album’s win at the VGMAs but the response he got from his son shocked him. He said that Zane replied that he already knows the album won and when Kidi tried finding out how he got to know since he didn’t watch the show, Zane said he didn’t watch the show but he knows the album won.
