Rashida took the internet by storm when her n*de photos surfaced online which generated a lots of buzz globally (yes, the story was picked by lots of foreign online portals).

Although the issue is dead and gone, it pops up once in a while during conversations. Ghanaian singer Mzbel, who has often been jabbed for her explicit music videos and lyrics, has justified what she does as an entertainer and to some extent Rashida’s behaviour.

Speaking to Adom FM, the controversial musician said Ghanaians are too judgemental, yet they like listening and watching to absurd things.

She added that if Rashida had come out to preach the gospel, or talk to people about cholera, no one would have listened to her.

She said:

“Because I was initially making money from music until I had my son and started going to church, I didn’t pause to think about what was going wrong. I have changed now, I don’t wear clothes relieving my body. My lyrics are very matured and responsible.

But unfortunately It has been very difficult to promote that new brand. It’s all about sekz sell.

When Rashida’s N*de video came out, though people criticized her, everyone was in a rush to watch and some people were even texting me asking if she had the video it got many views. Ghanaian like absurd things.
