Real Madrid cum Spanish football legend, Iker Casillas has retired from football following an illustrious career.
However, he has announced his decision to contest for the Presidency at the Spanish Football Association.
Casillas during his playing career won three Champions League titles and five La Liga trophies during with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
He also played 725 matches for Real Madrid and captained the Spanish national team to back-to-back European championships in 2008 and 2012, and led their team to their first-ever World Cup triumph in 2010.
He made his intentions known during a recent announcement on Twitter where he said;
“Yes, I will stand for the presidency of the Spanish FA when elections are called. Together we will put our federation at the level of the best football in the world.”
