Popular Ghanaian Highlife singer, Martin King Arthur, affectionately known as Kofi Kinaata has expressed his displeasure in the kind of music the new generations are adapted to as compared to what the oldies did during their time.

According to the “Things Fall Apart’ crooner, the bar has been lowered especially for the fact that the Ghanaian music industry has been structured in a way that any kind of song becomes an instant hit whether the message is good or not.
Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Kofi Kinaata stated that he is scared for the next generation because they might be listening to tunes on radio they might think is music but that is not even close to music according to his definition.
Kofi Kinaata stated that it is not every song that has to be a hit. He explained that such songs are only to be listened to but they are not supposed to be hit songs, but here lies the case where the new generation follows trends, hence anything enters.
Kofi Kinaata cited that his “Things Fall Apart” song was being compared to his “Behind The Scenes” tune and most people lamented that he couldn’t meet their expectations but he knew his goal and the power of his lyrics and now. both songs have dominated the scene and won his awards.
