A 30-year-old Ghanaian lady lamented that despite being sent to jail four times in her life and using all effort possible to quit stealing has proven futile.

Sharing her dilemma in an interview with the Crime Check team, she disclosed that her father had several children from separate relationships and was unable to care for them, thus she was forced to steal at a young age to survive.

The lady whose name was withheld during the interview recalled her first trip to prison where she spent two years for stealing someone’s clothes.

After her release, the mother of one confessed that she was compelled to return to stealing owing to financial problems and this time she spent 9 months in jail for stealing five wigs from a store.

She conceded that she had attempted several times to stop the bad behavior but she has been unsuccessful.
