Former Ghanaian president, John Dramani Mahama has sent a goodwill message to the senior national football team, the Black Stars.

This message comes at a point when the Black Stars will be looking forward to ending the 40-year AFCON trophy drought has the just-started African Cup of Nations tournament going on in Cameroon.

The message from John Mahama reads;

“Wishing our Black Stars the very best of luck in their opening game against Morocco later this afternoon, and in subsequent matches.
Football unites people, and we are all happy to rally behind the Black Stars to play well and annex our 5th African Cup Trophy after many years.
Go Black Stars! Go!”

The Black Stars of Ghana will be looking forward to win the AFCON trophy for the first time in 40 years and they will open the campaign against North African country, Morocco in a very crunchy Group C encounter on Monday, January 10.
