Dancehall act, Jupitar who was recently endorsed by music critic Mark Okraku Mantey to be the only ‘authentic’ Dancehall artiste in Ghana has made it clear that musicians in Ghana snitch and destroy their colleagues. Consequently he doesn’t see anyone is a brother except Nigerian multiple award winner, Patoranking.

The revelation has consolidated an age long belief that musicians in Ghana plot the downfall of their competitors and only play to the gallery to avoid their hidden motives. Tinny, Obrafuor and Opanka have all made similar pronoucements in the past.

Jupitar spoke to Hitz FM’s MzGee and said, “So far in my music lifestyle, he (Patoranking) is the only brother that I have, not even a Ghanaian musician.

I’ve no Ghanaian artiste as a brother and I’m telling you this before God and man because I’ve experienced enough of this snitching and destroying, honestly speaking that’s all we know.

When I was coming up, some of our musicians right in front of me were speaking Ewe to destroy me to someone I was introducing him to thinking I didn’t understand the language.”

Perhaps the visibility of Nigerian music on the continent of Africa demonstrates their sense of unity and proper branding and speaking on that subject Jupitar said Nigerians invest in talent and have a mentality that make their industry thrive as opposed to what we have here.
