Reports emerging suggest that The Volta Regional Security Council has apprehended 10 members of the separatist movement, Homeland Study Group Foundation.

The separatist movement some few days ago declared independence in some parts of Ghana and called it ‘Western Togoland State’.

The declaration was made by the leader of the group who is an 80-year old man identified as Charles Komi Kudzordzi, popularly known as Papavi Hobedetor, made the independence declaration at a public gathering in Ho.

He gave reasons for the declaration to be based on the fact that roads in the Volta Region were omitted from the Critical Roads list in the 2020 budget, claiming this is clear cut evidence that they have been neglected by the government.

The government after the declaration told Ghanaians to disregard the declaration and gave their word to deal with the group.

In a recent interview, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa, said steps are being taken to arrest everyone involved.
