Reports reaching us suggest that nine people are feared dead as suspected armed robbers stormed the Isanlu branch of First Bank in Kogi State.

Among the nine death include eight policemen and one civilian with one of the policemen being the Divisional Police Officer in the town.

It was gathered that two of the police personnel were women. The DPO, the two policewomen, and four Policemen were killed at the Police Station with only one policeman killed at the bank’s premises.

These suspected robbers reportedly went to the Police Station, faced off with the police as they opened fire on all the officers on duty at that time.

Subsequently, all detainees in the detention facility were freed before they then went to the bank to carry out their second plan.

Confirming the attack was the Police Public Relations Officer of Kogi Police Command, William Ayah, but he added that they still don’t know the total number of casualties.
