Reports reaching us indicate that a policewoman identified as Lance Corporal Francisca Tenge has been allegedly shot at Tema Newtown by a soldier.
Per the report, both security personnel were part of ‘Operation COVID-Safety’ team which is a joint police and military force deployed to regulate activities and enforce the lockdown directives by the President of Ghana.
The report revealed that the policewoman was shot in the leg and knee by the officer whose identity was not given and she has been hospitalized as she is currently receiving treatment at the Tema General Hospital.
The police have, however, started investigations into the matter to ascertain the cause of the shooting.
The military officer has been withdrawn from the operation and placed under military detention. More to follow!!!
