A Nigerian man who has just a week to his white wedding has been declared dead.
Mbadugha Valentine, a close friend of the deceased made the sad news available online. Taking to Facebook, he simply called the deceased Sunny. According to him, Sunny had his traditional wedding in September.
On Saturday, 23 October, his white wedding was going to be held. His friend wrote while mourning him;
”Last month was his traditional wedding and next week Saturday, 23rd is his white wedding, just a week from today, then the sad news came. Death is so senseless.
Rest in peace a good colleague and friend.
May God accept your soul Sunny.”
In a related development, Mariam, a 10-year-old girl, was reported dead when she was shot in the head by alleged cult members during a supremacy battle at Oja Oba, an ancient market in Ilorin, the state capital of Kwara.
Eyewitnesses claim that suspected cultists from the Eye and Aye confraternities attacked the market and began shooting randomly. Mariam and her three-year-old brother, Abdulraheem, were injured by one of the gunfire. Marian tragically lost a lot of blood and died as a result of the injuries she received.
Members of the Aiye were claimed to have followed a rival member known as Efo to a location near the market and opened fire on him. The warring cult factions exchanged bullets as a result of this.
Mariam and Abdulraheem were reportedly with their mother, Kehinde, who sells bread at a market stand, when a stray gunshot struck them. During the clash, a young man named Sulyman was claimed to have been brutally murdered.
The state police command’s spokeswoman confirmed the occurrence and stated that an inquiry into the regrettable situation had begun. He did say, though, that he was unaware of the fatalities.
