Most Nigerians like actress Kate Henshaw are reacting to reports that micro blogging site Twitter is about to establish its African headquarters and they picked Ghana ahead of other great African nations.

Twitter couple of days ago announced that the company will be setting up a team which will provide services to the whole of the African continent in Ghana. They explained the reasons why they picked Ghana ahead of other great African countries like Nigeria and South Africa is because of the country’s participation to ensure freedom of speech and democracy of its citizens.

Most Nigerians after the announcement has expressed their disappointments in why Twitter will by-pass a country like Nigeria with about 200 million people to establish their African headquarters in Ghana, a country with about 30 million people.

Kate Henshaw in her reaction to the announcement stated its no longer news that the operations of the micro blogging site is in Ghana rather than Nigeria despite the country’s 25 million Twitter users.

She also quoted some words from Bamidele Ademola- Olateju, saying it takes foresight,nuances of cutting edge technology and a country’s import for jobs & innovation to engage in such deals.

It’s no longer news that Twitter Africa operations is in Ghana instead of Nigeria with our 25million Twitter users.
