Dennis Nana Dwamena widely known as KIDI was born on 18th August 1993 to Mr. Gerald Thompson and Mrs. Beatrice Thompson in Accra, Ghana. He is from a family of three.
St. Anthony and Accra Academy are his Alma Mater and later went to University of Ghana where he graduated with Degree in Economics and Information Studies. During his stay in University, he used to perform at numerous places such as Morning Cafe’ where underground artist are given the opportunity to display their talents. He also had interest in recording covers of popular songs.
In 2015, KIDI joined the MTN Hitmaker competition and emerged winner. He was then signed to Lynx Entertainment where he wrote and produced his song ”Say You Love Me” which won the hearts of many Ghanaians and started being famous.
After releasing his ‘Odo’ song in July 2017, he has become one of the greatest and fastest growing young musician in Ghana. Later that same year Kidi remixed his popular song ‘Odo’ with Nigerian musicians Davido and Mayorkun.
Kidi has written alot of songs for some Ghanaian musicians like Kwesi Arthur, Magnom, Tic Tac, Kojo Cue and many more since he is a song writer as well. His song ‘Adiepena’ which was a massive hit song in the country was released in the year 2018.
During the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, KIDI had six nominations to his credit which included ”Best New Artiste”, ”Afropop Song” and ”Male Vocalist” which he went on to win ‘Highlife Song Of The Year”.
Aside his successful music career, KIDI is also blessed with a four year old son by name Zane Nana Boadi Dwamena.
