Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko, a Bayero University Kano graduate who kidnapped and killed Hanifa Abubakar, characterized himself on his Facebook profile bio as a “kind, giving, self-sacrificing, sensitive, inventive and expressive, cool headed man.”

On Monday, January 24, Kano’s instructor and founder of Noble Kids School, as well as his two accomplices, were detained in a jail facility for the horrible murder of 5-year-old Hanifa.

A closer look at his wall reveals that his most recent post was on November 12, 2021, just weeks before he abducted the kid.

In one of his messages, he asked to Allah to assist him in raising his daughter in the most honorable and God-pleasing manner possible.

Meanwhile, if Abdulmalik Tanko, the school proprietor who admitted to killing 5-year-old pupil Hanifa Abubakar Abba, is proven guilty by the law, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has committed to follow the constitution and approve to his death sentence.

Ganduje made the revelation while paying a condolence visit to the family’s residence in Dakata/Kawaji with his Deputy, Dr Nasuru Yusuf Gawuna, Majority Leader, State House of Assembly, Labaran Abdul Madari, and other top government functionaries, according to a statement released by Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State.

“We have good confirmation from the court handling the process that, justice would be done. No stone would be left unturned. Whoever is found guilty of this heinous offence will also face death without wasting any time. As a government we have already started the process.”

Our constitution provides that, when a death sentence is passed, it is the constitutional power of the governor to assent for the execution of the culprit. I assure you all that, I will not waste even one second” he said
