Gregory Bortey Newman knows as King Promise is an award winning Ghanaian songwriter and a singer born to Mr. Francis Newman (Businessman) and Mrs. Angela Quaye (Trader) on the 16th of August, 1995.

He attended De Kings Academy for his childhood education and Nungua Senior High School for his secondary education. He later furthered at the Central University for his first degree. Before his tertiary education, he had the opportunity to learn alot about music. He is tagged as a prolific writer because of his songs writing skills as he co-wrote Adina’s ”Too Late” which bagged an award in 2017’s Ghana Music Awards.

King Promise had his music influenced from his father whom he grew up listening to him play and electric genre of classic music.

In 2016, he featured Ghanaian born-British based musician Fuse ODG on a song titled ”Thank God” which brought him to the limelight.

King Promise has worked with a couple of Ghanaina musicians including Sarkodie, Mugeez amd Paedae. He has also worked with international artiste like Wizkid, Simi among others.

King Promise has one album titled ”As Promised” to his credit and he was fortunate to blessed with a verse from legendary Kojo Antwi on a song titled ”Bra”.

He is signed to Legacy Life Entertainment (LLE) owned by Gervin Ohene Addo.
