The most celebrated and greatest player to ever grace the basketball game, Kobe Bryant, has had his towel which he used to clean up his sweat sold at an auction for $33,000 (GHS188,975.00) on Sunday.

The big customized towel was last seen when Kobe delivered his last speech after his last game with Lakers which he stylishly ended with his signature sign out, “Mamba out”. The towel had earlier been sold couple of times until Sunday when it was bought by a die hard lakers fan for $33,000. He received two used tickets to the April 13, 2016 Lakers game where Kobe scored 60 points to help Lakers win over Utah Jazz.

Jeff Woolf, president of Iconic Auctions, explained to BBC that the highest bidder is a die hard lakers fan and a devoted one as such. He is known for having a collection of lakers memorabilia.

Kobe played for the lakers for 20 years and helped them win 5 league titles. He was an 18-time NBA All Star player and the Most Valuable Player in 2008. He died with his daughter, Gianna and other passengers in a helicopter crash when they were on their way to the mamba sports complex.
