Highlife musician Kofi Nti has lamented the glorification of weed (popular called wee in Ghana) in music videos. The Rakia crooner did not mince when he said he feels disappointed in his fellow musicians who have thrown morality out through the window and continue to engage in acts detrimental to the society.

He wondered why smoking is illegal in Ghana yet we flaunt it indiscriminately. He granted an interview to Flex Newspaper and said, “One thing musicians have to know is that and understand is, music is one of the educational tools God gave us and therefore, people emulate, learn, and are encouraged by the kind of music and videos we put out there. My question therefore is, if you smoke wee in your music video, what are you teaching?”

Kofi Nti hinted that TV stations should help curb this phenomenon because if they continue to air these kinds of videos, then the Ghana police should not arrest wee smokers.
