COVID-19 controls everyone’s daily life! Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus.
The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. It could even take lives.
People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease can spread from person to person through inhaling small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when an infected person coughs or exhales. These droplets land on objects and surfaces around the person as well. So people can also catch the virus by touching these objects or surfaces and then touching their eyes, nose or mouth.
Koliko Wear team, together with some individuals, thought about what we could do to help curb the spread of this deadly pandemic. Next to the world wide Covid-19 measures, wearing face masks to reduce Covid-19 transmission from potentially asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic people, is advised by US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
And this is where we can help. Normally Koliko Wear is producing shoes on a daily basis, but currently we are using our available resources to produce non-medical reusable masks and give them away for free to the community. Attached to the package of masks we add clear instructions of the worldwide Covid-19 measures so that we also contribute to increase of awareness. By this initiative we can’t avoid people to catch the virus, but we can help to decrease the further spread of the virus.
Due to sponsorships we are able to keep the team employed, to add extra workers to assist us and to buy the needed materials. Let’s all rally behind this project and keep this initiative running.
