Sandilands has been a judge on Australian Idol, Big Brother, Australia’s Got Talent, and The X Factor. However, Sandilands has gained notoriety for making controversial on-air stunts and offensive comments, leading to companies withdrawing their advertisements, serious breaches of industry codes of practice and guidelines, and his dismissal from Australian Idol.

In 2014, Sandilands and Jackie O relocated their show to the ARN (Australian Radio Network) on KIIS 106.5. In the same year, he made his debut in the movie Fat Pizza vs. Housos, which premiered in Australian theaters on November 27th.

Sandilands has been embroiled in several controversies over the years. In 2005, he was accused of “cooking the charts” by promoting his then-girlfriend Tamara Jaber’s song “Ooh Ahh.” He won a defamation lawsuit against Today Tonight for their coverage of the allegations.
