Lawyers for Menzgold Ghana have made their intention clear to the Security and Exchanges Commission (SEC) that they are ready to go all out with them in their tussle over the ineligibility of Menzgold to continue operating.

They have subsequently written a letter to them making it clear that the company has no intention to comply with the so-called directive to shut down.

According to the letter, Menzgold have not flouted any laws and as far as they know, they don’t need a licence from the SEC to carry out their business.

Yesterday Sept. 12, a letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) asking Menzgold Ghana to stop trading in gold without licence from with immediate effect hit the internet.

The letter which was signed by the Deputy Director General, Paul Ababio, SEC concluded that after a thorough   investigations into Menzgold activities, they realize that they do not operate within the confines of the law.

In a related development, Baafira hitmaker, Stonebwoy has thrown his weight behind Menzgold by insisting that notwithstanding the perspective of SEC, he is solidly behind the company because ultimately Ghanaians stand to gain from its operations.

We shall keep you posted on this subject should there be any new development.
