According to The Asante Nation, a popular Twitter page, the photo which has been seen worldwide is not the photo of the famous fearless fighter and Queen-mother, Nana Yaa Asantewaa but a photo of an American art student posing like the famous Queen of the Ashantis.

The Asante Nation gave a brief history of the Queen and her power play in the Ashanti Kingdom during the Gold Coast era. Their later submission that the photo is not Yaa Asantewaa sent sparked a huge controversy on the bird.

Netizens shared a rare photo of the late Queen mother and that intensified the situation on social media.
