Argentina’s footballing icon, Lionel Messi has been suspended for four international games following allegations that he insulted the referee during Argentina and Chile’s match earlier this month.

FIFA’s disciplinary committee investigated Messi’s actions and found him guilty of “directing insulting words” at the official on Tuesday (28Mar17).

According to him, he got ballistic calls that weren’t going his way during the game last week (ends24Mar17). This resulted in him missing Argentina’s game against Bolivia on Tuesday (28Mar17).
