The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has asked the general public to dismiss wild speculations flying wildly on social media that the Chairperson of the Commission Madam, Jean Mensah has tested positive for the Covid-19.

Rumors were rife earlier this week that Jean Mensah is the latest high-profile victim of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic following the likes of some NPP stalwarts getting the disease, including the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo (although it later emerged that the President only isolated himself as a precautionary measure and not because he has tested positive for Covid-19).
Debunking the news, the Commission said: ‘The Commission wishes to categorically state that this is an outright lie and figment of the author’s warped imagination. The Commission wishes to state that the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission is well and at post. She has not tested positive for the Coronavirus.
