Flag bearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama says his newly appointed running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is a “God-fearing”, “a distinguished scholar”, “a conscientious public servant” and “a role model.”
The National Executive Committee of the NDC, universally sanctioned Mr Mahama’s nomination of Professor Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for the December 2020 election.
The official announcement was made on on Monday, 6 July 2020.
The former President making his choice of running mate public in a Facebook post said Professor Opoku-Agyemang who worked as Minister of Education when he was President is “God-fearing”, “a distinguished scholar”, “a conscientious public servant” and “a role model.
She becomes the first woman chosen by the NDC as running mate.
