The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has announced the suspension of his Ashanti Region campaign tour following the death of the founder of the party and also a Former President of the Land, Jerry John Rawlings. This was revealed via Twitter.

The demise of the Legend was announced earlier this afternoon. According to reports, the Former President died of COVID-19. However, it has not been confirmed by any of his relatives.
He died at age 73.
Meanwhile, the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo has also suspended his campaigns and declared a nationwide mourning for the late President.
